The rolling bearings are among the most used machine elements with general purpose. Their function is to support the position of the axis of rotating or oscillating machine components and allow for a smooth movement. Depending on the direction of the percieved workload they are radial, axial and radial-axial (combined) bearings, depending on the shape of the rolling elements – ball, roller and needle bearings. Generaly, the ball bearings are recommended for low and medium workload applications, and the roller bearings -- for applications with heavy workload.
